Last night I dreamed about this helmet. I woke up realizing that this was what a typical vacuum suit might look in the Vodyanoi System. It's far more baroque than I'd originally anticipated, but who am I to question my subconscious?
The model illustrated here is part of a Mk III Nullifier Suit, used mainly by explorers out of Hypnopolis and Taringa Station. While not as effective as the sturdier Mk IV Holocaust variety used on deep salvage operations, or the Mk V Annihilation Panoply worn by Space Whalers of the Tunguska Diaspora, Nullifier suits are still prized for balancing protection with mobility, and are thus quite valuable.
Mk III suits have an AC of 2 and negate most environmental hazards, such as extreme temperatures or Somna Gas. They do not protect the wearer against Psionics.

Enjoying these posts.
Thanks!
Cool suit design. It's nice to have you blogging regularly again, too.
The new design for you blog is the best yet, man. And this setting you're cooking is like a nice slice of Vancian/Heavy Metal pie.
@Trey: It's nice to be back.
@Greg: Thanks. I've always thought you have the best looking blogs in the OSR. It took me a while to find one that balanced aesthetic with readability, so I'll probably stick with it for a while.
And Vancian/Heavy Metal pie is right up there with Key Lime.
