Bane to all who would venture beneath the earth's surface, Choking Croakers are both dangerous and ubiquitous. The species is said to have been originally bred in the transmutation vats of the wizard M'gurk*, and was intended as a cheap and efficient way to kill Gnomes, Hobbits, and children.

Choking Croakers would merely be an annoyance were it not for their noose-like tongues, which they employ indiscriminately and to great effect. Though they are relatively easy to dispatch, they attack as creatures with 3 hit dice rather than 1+1. The initial attack does no damage, but will Choke The Shit Out of You for 1d4 damage on the following round and each round thereafter. The choking will continue until either the Croaker or it's victim is dead. Up to four Croakers can attack the same victim simultaneously.

The Department of Gnomeland Security has issued a Kill on Sight order against these creatures, whom it calls "Nature's L'il Executioners".

*M'gurk will be covered in detail during Evil Wizard Week
